Know About - The Very First Nose Lift Surgeon

India is known for a lot more than chicken tikka and untouchability.

This exotic country produced the oldest plastic surgeon and rhinoplasty specialist- Sushruta. Times were tough in 6th century (B.C.) India and criminals were being executed and debilitated in numbers. Recurring wars had left many able men invalid.

In such a setting Sushruta, a renowned physician, worked out a method to fix broken and amputated noses. The first reconstructive rhinoplasty was performed successfully using skin from the forehead.

Sushruta took his skill further and devised more than 15 methods to repair a damaged nose. That’s ancient advanced nose surgery for you!

In keeping with the period when anesthetic precautions and certifications didn’t exist, Sushruta made use of wine as an anesthetic for most of his nose enhancement procedures and other cosmetic surgeries. Instruments crafted of pure iron were used for his operations.

Sushruta formulated the basic principles of cosmetic surgery which are still referred to till this date. Plastic surgeons have reworked and developed different rotation types and pedicle flaps that he laid down in his book Sushruta Samhita (Sushruta’s Compendium).

At the Plastic Surgery Institute of California nose enhancement surgeries are in a constant state of revision. You can consult us for some of the most skilled nose surgery procedures in California.

Nasal Tip Surgery Primer

Cosmetic surgeons generally suggest a nasal tip rhinoplasty if the nose displays an over-reduction, under-reduction or asymmetry after the nose surgery procedure.

An over-reduction is usually the result of excess chipping of the nose resulting in a stubby appearance. Additional cosmetic problems like protrusions a collapse of the nasal bone and a raise in the sidewall may also occur due to over-reduction.

Compared to the former, underresection or under-reduction presents an even greater problem for the nose surgery patient as the effect is known to persist. A very common nasal deformity is the occurrence of a pollybeak or parrot beak.

Asymmetry perhaps is the only nasal tip deformity known to occur before the nose enhancement procedure and is one of the most common motivators for a revision rhinoplasty. Plastic surgeons keep face surgery techniques in mind when chalking out nose symmetry.

To correct the nasal tip cosmetic rhinoplasty surgeons generally use techniques like onlay grafts and suture grafts. These procedures are very complex and are always treated as separate surgeries due to the nature of the nose tip which possesses separate mobility.

At the Plastic Surgery Institute of California, top plastic surgeons are versed in the most advanced of nose enhancement procedures. Fix an appointment with us today for the some of the best nasal tip correction treatments in California.

Cartilage Grafts And Their Use In Revision Rhinoplasty

Certain nose surgery patients of African descent are sometimes suggested to go in for cartilage grafts by plastic surgeons if they wish for a nasal bridge that is more pronounced and higher.

This rhinoplasty procedure can make changes in the nasal bone structure using grafts derived from autologous sources namely the nasal septum, the ears or the ribs. From all these options plastic surgeons prefer the nasal septum due to its affinity to the nasal area.

Donor cartilage is an option that is entertained only if the patient is lacking in adequate cartilage.

As compared to nose implant material derived from synthetic sources, cartilage grafts present the patient with less chances of contacting an infection or developing an allergy. Plus, inherent cartilage makes for smooth incorporation with the nasal bone and strengthens it naturally.

Cartilage grafts used in nose enhancement surgery show dexterity in doing away with dorsal nasal projection deficiency as well making it a very versatile technique for cosmetic surgeons to pursue.

At our advanced surgical institute we administer nose enhancement surgery using cartilage grafts. The Plastic Surgery Institute of California can help you out with nose implant information. Visit us to know more.

A Little About Dorsal Augmentation – Rhinoplasty Technique

Most people commonly go for a nose enhancement surgery in order to correct some or the other deficiency or deformity in their nasal structure. Case in point- celebrities.

But yet this occurrence can be passed off as an excuse as there are only this many deviated septums that the men and women in Hollywood can have fixed. For mere mortals nose deformities like deviated septums and an underprojected nose can be remedied with the help of a rhinoplasty and a dorsal augmentation surgery respectively.

The implant material used for this nose surgery procedure is generally silicone as it is easier to carve into the desired shape and insert into the nose. A cross between the I- and L-shaped silicone nose implants that are generally used, dorsal nose enhancement implants are particularly great for those patients who have a prominent tip.

The implant material that can be used though differs from patient-to-patient and could also include AlloDerm, a dermal filler graft that is obtained from cadavers. But there’s no need to worry, as it is approved by the FDA and is considerably safe.

At our advanced surgical institute you will be examined by a cosmetic surgeon very closely to determine the extent of correction that will have to be maintained in the dorsal augmentation surgery. The Plastic Surgery Institute of California can help you decide on the proper nose style as well to give you a better idea of what’s good for your face.

Michael Jackson, The Nasal Cripple Is Back In Town

Once upon a time…

Michael Jackson was nicknamed ‘Big Nose’. Yes, it’s absolutely true.

The former entertainer and singer made a rare appearance for designer Christian Audigier's 50th birthday and was as usual dressed up in his idea of party wear (flashy satin shirt and faux leather pants).

It never fails to amaze me how much his face degenerates every time he appears for any party or social events. His face has had so many nips and tucks with multiple plastic surgeries that he has become unrecognizable from the black pop star who had fans screaming his name and imitating his every dance move.

One plastic surgeon is of the opinion that Michael has had at least five nose enhancement surgeries during the course of his career. But in a documentary that he starred in early in 2003 he commented that he had only two rhinoplasty procedures.

Its difficult to say how many nose enhancement procedures he has had as his nose has changed beyond what is considered to be a normal shape. Plastic surgeons know for a fact that five nose surgery procedures are enough to damage the nose very badly and make it susceptible to infection and heavy scarring.

But considering Michael and his tendency to splash money on his appearance, he might just go and get a cosmetic surgery procedure that will lighten the scars. It’s another matter whether his skin actually survives the assault or no.

What are your views, should Michael get back in the public eye with that face? We would like to know at the Plastic Surgery Institute of California.

Nose Implants – Know More About What Goes Into Them

Thank goodness a plastic surgery procedure like rhinoplasty has improved so much since the 19th and 20th centuries.

Imagine having the surgeon insert material like paraffin, celluloid, cork or platinum in your nose during a nose surgery procedure. The early patients that the cosmetic surgeons might have operated upon must have surely possessed nerves of steel!

In this day and age, nose implant materials can be either obtained from the human body like the septal cartilage or they can be synthetically manufactured out of expanded polytetrafluoroethylene. Contrary to popular belief however, silicone rubber remains a less preferred choice of nose implant material.

Since there is no ideal nasal implant substance silicone has its own drawbacks like its likelihood to project, unsuitability for thin-skinned areas, etc.

Working on the materials mentioned earlier plastic surgeons can work on inserting a suitable implant in the nose enhancement surgery however. But because this cosmetic surgery procedure is performed on the face, it does pose a challenge for the plastic surgeon.

At the Plastic Surgery Institute of California we pay close attention to the harmonics of the facial features of the patient so that it becomes easier for the candidate to hone in on the nose style they desire. Get in touch with us for a nose enhancement surgery consultation.

Points To Ponder For Dark-skinned Rhinoplasty Patients

When plastic surgery initially entered mainstream medical practice, it was developed to conform to Caucasian aesthetic standards. One reason why this was so is probably because of the patronage given to it by this group of people- they were generally the ones who could afford it.

But very few people know that plastic surgery was found by an ancient Indian doctor named Sushruta who performed the first rhinoplasty and cosmetic surgery on an Indian patient. This was ages ago nevertheless and today the story is quite different.

Headway is being made in the annals of cosmetic nose surgery for the darker-skinned population in the world though. By dark-skinned I refer to races like Africans, Indians, certain Mongoloid races, Hispanics, Native Americans, etc. who don’t fall under Caucasian standards of physical appearance.

Cosmetic nose surgery for individuals of such heritage calls for a plastic surgeon that understands the facial characteristics particular to the ethnic group and has a successful record of handling such cases.

Dark-skinned nose surgery patients also need to remember that scarring is more intense in their case due to the high melanin content in the epidermis. Discuss with your rhinoplasty surgeon the best way to take care of this problem and don’t forget to keep him in the know about any health problem you might be suffering from.

Hate Your Body? Have A Rhinoplasty

If you have been following the buzz about The Hills and its girls, you must be familiar with Heidi Montag, former BFF of Lauren Conrad (star of the show).

Last year she did something really stupid and got breast surgery and a nose surgery in one go- all because she hated her body. Now that is a decision I would give her a further minus 10 for (my current rating for her is minus 60).

Apparently Heidi inherited her nose from her dad and was very unhappy with it due to its large size. She would get very bothered about the comments people passed on her nose. Now genetics is always something you have to be wary about. In the whole basket of wonderful genes, you might be stuck with some really terrible ones.

So apart from blaming your genes you can check up on the different things you can do to beautify your flaws. Makeup generally solves a lot of problems but it still remains a very temporary option.

A nose enhancement surgery on the other hand, presents a longer solution to genetically inherited nose flaws but its not something to resort to when you are feeling depressed about the way you look.

While you might have come across many men and women claiming to have boosted their self-esteem with plastic surgery, you have to beware of those who have had it to lift them up from depression of any kind.

Get a nose surgery because you want to feel good about yourself and not because you want others to feel good about your body. Visit the Plastic Surgery Institute of California for further help on nose surgery prices and procedures.

Dealing With Saddle-noses

Athletes and cocaine addicts are usually two groups that don’t really have much in common (there could be exceptions). A nasal deformity like a saddle-nose is one thing these two groups are known to have in common however.

A saddle-nose can be corrected by a nose surgery by way of application of certain surgery techniques. The deformity is usually an acquired condition.

In many ways, the characteristics of a patient with a saddle-nose are very similar to certain people of African-American heritage as both cases are found to have an indistinct nasal tip and a depression in the bridge. The length of the nose is also shorter in both cases and is usually one of the more distinguishing characteristics of a saddle-nose.

It goes without saying then that the cases of saddle-nose occurrence are not uncommon among certain ethnic groups. People who have had previous nose surgery procedures like reductive rhinoplasty too at times face a saddle-nose problem.

Saddle-nose correction via a corrective nose surgery is usually carried out when the candidate finds a difficulty during respiration or is looking for nose enhancement. But for those patients who have acquired the deformity due to intranasal cocaine/drug use, they have to be off such substances for at least year before the surgery.

Additionally, drug users have to exhibit a high degree of improvement from their addiction as well.

The Afro-American Nose Job

In the 2003 edition of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery®, the official medical journal of the ASPS, one of the co-authors mentioned that the beauty of a plastic surgery patient’s ethnicity should shine through after a nose reshaping and that it should not be suppressed.

This does present a problem for plastic surgeons that get requests from patients of African-American ethnicity to reshape their nose according to Caucasian standards. The African-American nose generally possesses a wide, depressed nasal bridge and an indistinct nasal tip. The nostrils are more flared as well.

Caucasian noses on the other hand have more angular and narrow lines, which as you may have noticed, are widely different from their African-American counterparts. Experienced plastic surgeons may be able to reshape the former nose in a nose surgery procedure, but the overall ethnic appearance could be affected.

Regardless, the change in appearance and the degree of change depends on the nose enhancement patient and their expectations and are usually controllable. It’s best to allow your cosmetic surgeon to study your nasal and facial structure thoroughly and advise you on the best course of action.

At the Plastic Surgery Institute of California we have board certified doctors practicing rhinoplasty in ASPS accredited facilities. The cosmetic surgeons at our advanced surgical institute are experienced in dealing with patients of ethnic groups.

The Versace Nose Job

Donatella Versace rarely looks like a vision in Versace (her design house). Fake tanner too obvious, face heavily made up and peroxide blond hair that clashes with the skin tone can make a rather sorry picture.

So when I checked her out for the premier of Madonna’s documentary on Malawi at the Cannes Film Festival, I have to say, I was left staring. For once she was dressed in a subtle pastel colored dress that covered her up very demurely.

Now only if she could learn to downplay her facial features better.

Donatella used to look very different back in the days when her brother Gianni was the boss of the fashion house. Her plastic surgery forays became more prominent subsequent to her takeover as the head.

A large part of the blame falls on the nose enhancement attempt she undertook. Her features are very heavy and instead of selecting a nose style that would be an offset to the rest of her face, Donatella selected a nose that dominates her face too much.

For a satisfactory rhinoplasty job, the plastic surgeon needs to study the facial structure of the patient very closely. Select a certified plastic surgeon who has experience in nose surgery and has practiced face lift surgery as well.

A Nose Surgery Concern – Dashed Hopes

There are places in Saudi Arabia and Iran where husbands and wives live together and have children without the wife revealing her face. The practice is steeped in tradition is yet followed to this day and age.

I came to know about this interesting information just today when I caught the Daily Mail’s report on a wife divorcing her husband because he got curious about her face and lifted her veil while she was asleep.

I can’t help wondering what the husband seen and whether it was worth getting divorced.

When the plastic surgeon removes the last bandage from a nose surgery patient’s face, there is a similar sense of curiosity that goes through the patient’s mind. Frequently, the nose enhancement is worth all the pain for the patient.

But there are times when the patient is not happy at all about the result (oh yes, this is possible). Now there are three reasons why this could happen.

Either the rhinoplasty procedure faced some medical obstacles during surgery (no surgery is 100 percent safe, remember that) or else the patient did not communicate to the cosmetic surgeon the specific requirement. The third reason is, or rather are unrealistic expectations.

The best way to avoid dashed hopes after a surgery procedure is to pay total attention to the proceedings of the consultation procedure. At the Plastic Surgery Institute of California we store immense importance by this step of the cosmetic rhinoplasty process.

Janet Jackson’s Got Her Nose Set On A Comeback

I know that sounds wrong, but I just couldn’t resist.

Considering that Janet has had a nose surgery when she was a mere 16-year-old, it’s a surprise that she hasn’t gone taken the route big brother Michael has taken. Now that she has announced plans of a comeback I am wondering how long it will be before she gets back to the plastic surgeon.

On her favorite girl’s show- The Ellen DeGenres Show, Janet declared that she would be embarking on a world tour later in the year. The concert called “Rock With U” is going to get Janet back in the singing world after 7 long years.

When she mentioned that there might be a possibility of a Jackson 5 reunion, I couldn’t help but get panicky thinking of all that excessive cosmetic surgery on display in full their glory.

Janet herself is rumored to have had a breast augmentation surgery and various nips and tucks in various parts of her body. Her recent large scale weight loss had a whiff of a tummy tuck or a liposuction job.

Her nose at least hasn’t suffered as much as the ones belonging to her siblings. It’s just a matter of time though till she decides to take the nose enhancement far enough and look like Michael’s twin.

Nose Surgery For Posh To Turn Up Her Nose Stylishly

Britian’s answer to style- Posh Beckham is always one for setting trends. Currently, she is a strong advocate of the high waist skirt/dress style that makes her look oh-so-svelte. As a style icon, I admire Posh, but I’m not too sure I can say the same about her plastic surgery decisions.

Critics think that because of the (speculated) heavy work Victoria has done on her face with a couple of face surgery procedures, she looks wooden/arrogant/icy, etc. One of the said cosmetic surgery procedures is believed to be a nose enhancement surgery.

For a long time Victoria Beckham disliked her nose and wasn’t really happy with the way her nose turned up at the tip. Personally I think a button-cum-snub nose looks rather cute and in her photos when she a young Mrs. Beckham she rocked the look.

But apparently she was mighty impressed with the nose enhancement work Jennifer Aniston had and based her partiality for a plastic surgery procedure like rhinoplasty on it. I feel her nose looks pretty good, especially when she smiles.

What do you think about a nose surgery? Would you have one if your nose were turned up at the tip? Let the Plastic Surgery Institute of California know your thoughts.

Cameron Diaz – Getting Better With Age And Nose Surgery:

We all know that Cameron is something of a surfing freak, but getting bashed four times while enjoying your favorite sport and still loving it is not everyone’s cuppa.

But the megawatt smile actress met her accidents head on and finally got her nose fixed as it was the main recipient of the latest blows. The nose surgery which she got done in 2005, according to her, took care of her shattered nose.

Like a lot of people who have a reconstructive nose surgery, Cameron might have had it cosmetically enhanced as well to give it a bit of polish. But like many of her contemporaries who have had cosmetic surgery, she passes it of as a purely medical procedure.

Regardless, 35-years-old and post her father’s funeral, Cameron has bounced back amazingly and still dazzles with her ever present smile and quirky humor. In a recent interview for Cosmopolitan she says, “I feel I get better with age ... I look at pictures of myself when I was 21 and think, 'Wow, I didn't look so bad'.”

Looks like the girl has found the secret for a happy life!

Nose Surgery And Beverly Hills 90210:

This show may not be comparable to Dr. 90210, but the perfect bods that make up the cast could very well be pinups for plastic surgery. Tori Spelling in particular, could lead the list very well.

Rumors of Tori reprising her role on the famous 90’s show are out and about and this time she wants to be a sexy mom. No worries out there as Tori with her augmented breasts and nose enhancement (and alleged multiple cosmetic surgery jobs) has got the entire package.

She very recently admitted having a nose surgery and passed it off as something most of her contemporaries have already done and don’t admit to. It’s a relief I tell you, coming across men and women who have been in the spotlight for a while now admitting to a cosmetic surgery.

And thankfully Tori has not used the age old defense against having a rhinoplasty surgery- a deviated septum. She admits to getting a traditional cosmetic nose surgery done which made her nose narrower and more refined.

Somehow I don’t really like the nose she got after her nose surgery though. It strikes me as unsuitable for her face. Her chin is too heavy to carry out a nose as tiny as that.

At the Plastic Surgery Institute of California we analyze a patient’s face before deciding on the shape and size of the new nose. It helps us keep the patient’s facial features in sync with one another.

Supermodel Nose Jobs:

Heidi Klum is modeldom’s undisputed style icon and when Model.com declared her the Sexiest Model in the World her queen status was simply emphasized.

But has the 34-year-old mother of three had some plastic surgery work done to attain that supermodel status?

Ever since she entered the modeling world in her native Germany, Klum stood out from the flock. But it was a contract with Victoria’s Secret that catapulted her straight into supermodel status. Today, she ranks higher and is worth more then beauties like Tyra Banks and Helena Christensen who were in the field much before she came in.

Cosmetic surgery procedures like rhinoplasty and breast augmentation are believed to have added an extra oomph to her already striking looks. There aren’t many pictures of Heidi in her early modeling days and the ones I came across weren’t all that compelling to convince me of her nose surgery.

However I strongly am in favor of Klum’s breast surgery as her breasts look arguably enhanced.

Nose surgery at the Plastic Surgery Institute of California is performed by some of the best plastic surgeons in the country. Our advanced surgical institute understands people’s desire for supermodel looks.

However, it is better to keep realistic expectations for super comfort later on.

When You Are All Nose Have A Rhinoplasty in Beverly Hills:

That’s what the eternal showgirl Cher did when she was just starting off her career as a singer.

A rhinoplasty was the very first plastic surgery procedure young Cherilyn Sarkisian La Piere had. The nose surgery led on to other cosmetic surgery procedures like breast augmentation, face lift surgery and more recently laser treatments and Botox fillers.

But it’s not as though Cher looked dorky in her younger years. The pictures I came across of her before her nose surgery disclosed a young girl looking a lot like Barbara Streisand’s younger sister. Her honker was a bit fuller than the elegant nose she sports now.

Over the years though her various plastic surgery escapades have transformed her into a serenading diva who knows how to make the audience whistle for more. Her dynamic stage personality was revealed in full force at her opening night show at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas where she is going to perform for a span of three years.

She’s still raking in the millions (she was reportedly paid $60 million) and it looks like its enough to take care of her aging paranoia. She once exclaimed, “Everyone says I am terrified of getting old, but the truth is that in my job becoming old and becoming extinct are one and the same thing.”

Hmm… I don’t quite know what to make of that statement but it seems like her decision to have a rhinoplasty surgery all those years ago was a good one. Look how she looks today!

Do Nose Jobs Get You On The Hot 100 List? Rhinoplasty Beverly Hills Wonders:

The younger of the Simpson siblings has managed to wriggle onto No.18 spot on the Maxim Hot 100 List for 2008. She actually beat her sister, the classic American blond bombshell Jessica Simpson!

Considering Ashley is not much in the curve department and has a rather subdued oomph factor, this is quite a coup for the 22 year-old. Call me suspicious but ever since she had her rhinoplasty surgery her fortunes have been rising.

Think about it, before she had a nose surgery nobody really remembered Ashley much except for being Jessica’s younger sister.

Post-surgery, she began getting her own share of attention for everything from her difficult decision to have plastic surgery, to her musical ambitions and her boyfriend Pete Wentz. Rumors about a pregnancy are currently keeping the gossip cogs well oiled.

According to past trends all the hot air about Ashley Simpson somehow has a whiff of truth about it. Her nose surgery came out in the open after her dad said so, her engagement to boyfriend Wentz surfaced when she displayed her ring. Hmm… looks like it’s just a matter of time now for the pregnancy.

But if you are on the Maxim Hot 100 list there is a lot you have to live up to (Lindsey Lohan was No.1 last year). After all you have to compete with your fellow-listers for next year’s spot!

But you, my dear reader, ought to make a smart nose surgery decision for your own self. The Plastic Surgery Institute of California can help you out.

Peter Andre’s Nose Overshadowed By Wife’s Breasts:

In plastic surgery annals, Peter Andre always seems to be left out of the spotlight that shines bright over his wife and her repeatedly augmented breasts.

But very few know that this one-time pop sensation had a rhinoplasty or nose surgery. The procedure was performed several years ago and was a minor one.

According to Andre, “I had a really Roman nose and thought it was too big, so I booked myself in to the LA surgeon who'd done Toni Braxton's nose. I thought her nose was great and fortunately he did a good job of mine as well!”

This was way before the calamity called Jordan struck the hunky singer who sang some memorable numbers like Mysterious Girl and Kiss the Girl. Even in those days however, I remember his nose looking pretty ok. Well, each to his own I guess.

There are some people though, that prefer the aquiline measures of a Roman nose despite its severity of appearance. It maybe something to do with the powerful aura it lends the face. Julius Caesar, the Buddha, Sherlock Holmes are some of the notable personalities known to possess a Roman nose.

However, if you have a Roman nose and wish to have its lines rendered less severe, you can think of having a rhinoplasty surgery. This cosmetic surgery procedure reshapes the nasal bridge and the underlying bone structure, softening the appearance of the nose.

Check out the procedure at the Plastic Surgery Institute of California and you’ll get a better idea about our cosmetic nose surgery services.

Planning And Preparing For Your Nose Enhancement:

Nose enhancement, also known as cosmetic nose surgery is a plastic surgery procedure that reshapes any part of the nose by increasing or reducing its size. It modifies the size and shape of the nostrils, tip or bridge of the nose and alters the slope or angle of the nose.

This cosmetic surgery procedure can also be performed to correct an injury or birth defect, or to remove any obstacle in the nasal cavity.

Skin type, ethnic background and age are important factors to be considered while discussing a nose surgery procedure with your plastic surgeon. It is recommended that the nose enhancement patient be at least fifteen to sixteen years of age before having their nose altered.

It is always advisable to get the nose surgery procedure administered by a board certified cosmetic surgeon in order to achieve the best outcome.

Avoid using cosmetic surgeons that advertise low prices. Such a surgeon often cut corners to reduce costs.

At the Plastic Surgery Institute of California, board certified plastic surgeons meticulously examine nose enhancement patients and address their needs and concerns. For expert advice and consultation, visit the Plastic Surgery Institute of California.

Wanna Sizzle This Summer With A New Look?:

Nose enhancement, also known as rhinoplasty, is a common plastic surgery procedure performed in the United States.

Advanced technology has made rhinoplasty surgeries easier and more successful than ever before. Not surprisingly then, more and more people, whether they're celebrities or not, are taking advantage of the surgical principles first developed a couple of millennia ago, and carefully perfected in the quest for aesthetic satisfaction.

Nose enhancement is intended to be performed on any part of the nose to increase or reduce size; to modify the size and shape of the nostrils, tip or bridge of the nose; or to alter the slope or angle of the nose.

The cosmetic surgery procedure can also be performed to correct an injury or birth defect, or to improve breathing.

Nose enhancement procedure is accomplished using local or general anesthesia in an outpatient setting. The skin on the nose is cut and lifted away from the bone and cartilage framework beneath, which is then shaped and sculpted as desired. The skin is then re-draped over the "new" framework and a splint is applied to help the nose maintain its new form.

At the Plastic Surgery Institute of California, we offer a comfortable and relaxed environment with state-of –art technology and best medicines to ensure the desired outcome for the nose enhancement procedures.

For more information on nose enhancement, visit our advanced surgical institute.
